How do I become a volunteer
Your interests, skills and time availability will be considered when working out a role for you. Some roles require specialised skills and specific training while others require readily acquired skills.
Overall, we aim to provide you with an enjoyable, rewarding and fulfilling experience in line with our goals and mission to beat cancer in South Australia. A. Applying for an advertised volunteer role For advertised roles you’ll need to fill in an application form and forward it to us with your resume. See our Volunteer Opportunities page for a list of current vacancies. B. Expressing an interest in unadvertised roles Volunteer vacancies are not always advertised. Contact the HR and Volunteer Coordinator to find out whether there are any suitable volunteer vacancies or whether a role might be organized. C. The Interview Process
All potential ongoing volunteers will be interviewed and reference checks will be conducted. E. Notification of Success
If you’re successful, the HR and Volunteer Co-ordinator will contact you by phone to advise you of the start date and any other details for your first day. Once contacted, you will be sent a confidentiality agreement, emergency contacts form and an invitation to orientation. If you’ve been unsuccessful or there are no suitable roles we’ll either contact you by phone or send you a letter depending on the number of applicants or the type of volunteer role you’re interested in. F. Orientation
Induction will commence on your first day. Training may be given prior to starting if the role requires. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation session as soon as possible after commencing.  Top
